I'm posting this in the catch-all Computers forum because I can do whatever I want because I pay for the hosting and hamster food.
Mint.com is part of the Web 2.0 approach to software where the software is a web service. What Mint.com does is put all your financial info into one place and helps you to track your spending/cashflow. Best of all it's free! The interface is pretty slick. Very intuitive. I was able to get my money right a few minutes after adding my bank account info and downloading my transactions. Best feature is an interactive pie chart which shows me what I'm spending my money on (yes, 10% of my money is spent at HRO). The rough edges are the lack of ability to enter manual transactions (like when you write a check), no ability to make cashflow projections (it's the 3rd of the month, how much money do I have to last until payday), and a tendency to enter transactions twice into your list of transactions.
Mint.com is a service that has much potential. If they the add manual transactions and fix the duplicate transaction problems, it will be an excellent service. Try it out at:
